Zheng Jiang (countertenor) is currently in the second year of his Master’s degree at the Royal College of Music, where he studies with Ben Johnson and Stephen Varcoe. He is a recipient of a Study Award and is generously supported by the Josephine Baker Trust. He completed his undergraduate studies in Canada under the guidance of Norma Burrowes and was awarded third prize in the 2023 Ontario Music Festivals Association (OMFA) Classical Voice Competition. In 2024, he was given the Nicholas Partridge Award for ‘Oustanding Creativity’ at the inaugural Eastbourne International Singing Competition, and in 2025 he was a finalist in the Kathleen Ferrier Awards. His opera roles have included Cherubino (Le nozze di Figaro), the Sandman (Hänsel und Gretel), Ruggiero (Alcina), Valentiniano (Ezio) and the title-role in Rinaldo.
