Philippe Durrant (tenor) won Second Prize at the 2025 Kathleen Ferrier Awards at Wigmore Hall. He read Music at Durham University before studying at the Royal College of Music, where he was taught by Tim Evans-Jones, and has sung as a chorister with many of the UK’s leading opera companies, including English National Opera, Glyndebourne Festival Opera and Garsington Opera. He has also appeared regularly with The Sixteen, and will become a Samling Artist in 2026. His operatic and concert engagements have included Shepherd/Spirit in Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo for Garsington, Bill in Samuel Barber’s A Hand of Bridge for Waterperry Opera Festival, Bach’s St. John Passion (Evangelist) with the Avison Ensemble at Durham Cathedral, and Mozart’s Requiem with the Thames Philharmonic Choir at Cadogan Hall.
