Australian soprano Kiandra Howarth trained at Queensland Conservatorium. She has won First Prize in the Magda Olivero International Lyric Opera Competition, the CulturArte Prize in Operalia, First Prize in the Joan Sutherland & Richard Bonynge Bel Canto Award and third place in the International Elizabeth Connell Prize for Dramatic Sopranos. She is a former member of the Opera Queensland Young Artist Programme (2011), Opera Australia Young Artist Programme (2012), Salzburg Festival Young Singers Project (2013) Jette Parker Young Artist Programme (2013–15), and is a current ensemble member for the Staatsoper Hannover. Recent appearances include Konstanze in Die Entführung aus dem Serail (Grange Festival), Donna Anna (Basel, Luxembourg, Guangzhou), Pamina (Rome), Fiordiligi (Northern Ireland Opera), Freia (Zurich), Mimi (Klagenfurt), Erste Dame (Munich), Dorota in Schwanda der Dudelsackpfifer (Komische Oper Berlin), Desdemona (Oper Leipzig) and Rusalka, Alcina, Countess (Le nozze di Figaro) and Mimì in Hannover. Plans include debuts in the roles of Arabella, Die Feldmarschallin / Der Rosenkavalier and Magda / La Rondine as well as Angelica and Giorgetta / Trittico.
