Sam Hird (baritone) trained at the Royal College of Music (RCM), where he studied with Peter Savidge and Sir Thomas Allen, joined the Opera Studio and received the prestigious Tagore Gold Medal. He will début with The Mozartists in January 2027 at Cadogan Hall in ‘The Truth about Love’. He is currently a Jette Parker Artist at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, where he made his main-stage début in January 2026 as Baron Douphol (La traviata). His other roles for the Royal Opera include Moralès (Carmen) on the main stage, and roles in Tales of Love and Loss, The Departure, Charlotte Bray’s Making Arrangements and Elena Langer’s Four Sisters in the Linbury Theatre. Roles at the RCM included Count Almaviva (The Marriage of Figaro) and Danilo (The Merry Widow). He made his Wigmore Hall début in 2024.
