The Big Give 2023

An award-winning period-instrument orchestra and opera company specialising in the music of Mozart & his contemporaries, seeking vital funds to enable our pioneering work, benefitting artists, audiences & schoolchildren through performances, recordings, outreach & young artist programmes.

Although Mozart is arguably the greatest composer ever to have lived, many of his works are not well known, and most ensembles perform a tiny fraction of the music of his contemporaries. Artists have been badly hit by the pandemic and funding cuts, jeopardising paid engagements and important developmental opportunities for emerging artists. School children have suffered in recent years, with mental health among young people at an all-time low, while music is being squeezed out of the curriculum.

Our conductor/artistic director Ian Page & many of the musicians we work with are leaders in their field, sharing a wealth of knowledge & experience. Our projects showcase outstanding young talent, and our Associate Artists Scheme helps to build an ever-expanding ensemble of world-class young singers. In our outreach projects, highly skilled workshop leaders will connect with 1000s of children, including special needs groups, building creativity, confidence, communication & team-working skills.
