Steven Devine has been Principal Keyboard Player of The Mozartists for the past two decades, and in addition to his outstanding continuo work his appearances with the company have included solo concertos by J. C. Bach and C. P. E. Bach. He is also Principal Keyboard Player of the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and The Gonzaga Band, and he performs and records regularly with many other groups around Europe. His numerous solo recordings include Bach’s Goldberg Variations and Italian Concerto on Chandos and the complete harpsichord works of Rameau, Bach’s The Well-Tempered Klavier and a new series of keyboard works by Johann Ludwig Krebs on Resonus Classics. Steven is also music director of New Chamber Opera in Oxford and conductor and artistic advisor for the English Haydn Festival in Bridgnorth. He is Early Keyboard Consultant to the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and the Royal Welsh College of Music, and teaches fortepiano at the Royal Academy of Music.
