Swedish mezzo-soprano Rebecka Wallroth studied at the Music Conservatory in Falun, Sweden, and is currently completing her studies at the University for Music and the Performing Arts in Vienna. Next season she will join the International Opera Studio of the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin. In 2022 she won 1st prize and the Karl Böhm Mozart Prize at the Gesangwettbewerb Feruccio Tagliavini competition in Austria, 1st prize in the Karl Staud Musikpreis, and 2nd prize in the Wilhelm Stenhammar International Music Competition. Her opera engagements this season include Olga (Eugene Onegin) and Idamante (Idomeneo), both at Schlosstheater, Schönbrunn.
In September 2023 she makes her UK début at Wigmore Hall in the opening concert of The Mozartists’ 2023/24 season.
