Rachel Podger (violin) has established herself as one of the world’s leading interpreters of the music of the Baroque and Classical periods. She is the founder and Artistic Director of the Brecon Baroque Festival and her ensemble Brecon Baroque, and is Principal Guest Director of Tafelmusik in Canada. She was Gramophone Artist of the Year in 2018, and was awarded the BBC Music Magazine Recording of the Year in 2023 for her solo album ‘Tutta Sola’. Further awards have included two Gramophone Awards in the Baroque Instrumental category, the Diapason d’Or in the Baroque Ensemble category, and BBC Music Magazine Awards in the Instrumental and Concerto categories. She has collaborated with many leading artists and organizations, including Robert Levin, Jordi Savall, Christopher Glynn, Kristian Bezuidenhout, Masaaki Suzuki, Philharmonia Baroque, the Orchestra of the Age Enlightenment, the Handel and Haydn Society, the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, I Fagiolini, San Francisco Early Music, the Holland Baroque Society and the Oregon Bach Festival.
