The mezzo-soprano Ambroisine Bré began her musical training in a masterclass before joining the program for Young Professional Singers at the CRR in Paris. In 2013, she joined Yves Sotin’s class at the Paris Conservatory. Winner of several opera competitions, in 2017 she won four prizes at the Paris Opera Competition “Les Mozart de l’Opéra” at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées and then won that same year, with the pianist Qiaochu Li, the Grand Prix Duo Chant/Piano of the Nadia and Lili Boulanger International Competition.

Bré’s career took off on several major European stages under the baton of great conductors such as Christophe Rousset, Laurence Equilbey, Marc Minkowski, Hervé Niquet, Raphaël Pichon, Eivind Gullberg Jensen, Vincent Dumestre, Thomas Hengelbrock, Leonardo Garcia Alarcon. She has been heard at the Wiener Staatsoper, the Théâtre des Etats in Prague, the Philharmonie du Luxembourg, the Berlin Staatsoper, the Lille Opera, the Bordeaux Opera, the Opéra du Rhin, La Monnaie in Brussels, the Opéra Comique, the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées and the Royal Opera of Versailles, as well as in numerous festivals: Festival Radio France, Festival Berlioz, Festival de Deauville, Festival de la Chaise Dieu, Festival de Beaune and the Festival de Menton.

She has played many roles such as Lazuli in Chabrier’s L’Etoile, Cherubino in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro, Zerline in Mozart’s Don Giovanni, Sesto in Mozart’s La Clemency di Titus, Flora in Verdi’s La Traviata, Mercedes in Bizet’s Carmen, Dorabella in Mozart’s Cosi fan Tutte, Galathée in Lully’s Acis et Galathée, Mallika in Delibes’ Lakmé, Urbain in Meyerbeer’s Les Huguenots. She is particularly fond of recitals and is fortunate to have been accompanied by many wonderful artists such as Bertrand Chamayou, Ismaël Margain, Johan Farjot, David Bismuth, Mathilde Calderini, the Hanson Quartet, the Hermès Quartet, and Geneviève Laurenceau.

Recently, she played Ottavia and Virtu in Monteverdi’s The Coronation of Poppea at the Royal Opera of Versailles, the title role of Grétry’s Andromache at the Opéra de Saint-Etienne and Dorothée in Massenet’s Cinderella at the Limoges Opera and made her debut at La Scala in Milan in the role of Edvige in Porpora’s Carlo il Calvo.
